I began making zine a few years after my dad’s passing. I wanted to do something to memorialize him so zines was the answer to do so. My dad always wanted to travel and discover the world and experience new cultures and meet new people. This project has also helped to meet new people.

When did you start making zines ... and why?

I began making zine a few years after my dad’s passing. I wanted to do something to memorialize him so zines was the answer to do so. My dad always wanted to travel and discover the world and experience new cultures and meet new people. This project has also helped to meet new people.

What is your favorite part of making zines?

My favorite part of making zines is looking at all photographs that people send me. I enjoy seeing the beautiful locations where people have taken my dad. Some of photographs have brought me to tears and I am very grateful that strangers have taken the time and consideration to take my pops on their journeys.

Is there anything else you want people know about you or your zines?

Some advice I would give someone is to focus on their interests or something they like to do. For example if you love taking photos well make a zines on photography. If you live drawing, make a zine on your drawing. If you love writing, something that I don’t like doing, make a zine on your writing ie short stories, poetry or your thoughts.
