What is your favorite part of making zines?

our favorite part of making zines is probably sharing them with others. we not only enjoy the creative/collective experience of the MAKING of the zine (organizing, discussing, perfecting, printing, binding, cutting) but that great feeling when it is complete and ready to put out for the world to receive. what is there not to love?

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start making zines?

our very advice would of course be MAKE IT. no matter the subject, your means, your self doubts or criticisms, someone out there will relate to and love your zine. get whatever it is you need off of your chest, if there is a drive to create it then it should be created! (If we can do it you can do it.)

Is there anything else you want people know about you or your zines?

we at irrelevant press find it/have always found it important to be there for the community. if a zine isn’t sure how to come to fruition quite yet, maybe someone is strapped for cash or doesn’t have the right computer program, we’re there for you. we are here to help. as much as we do take pleasure in our own zines and their process, we love nothing more than working with others to make their zine, book, art of any type come to existence. those who may have it the hardest to make it likely deserve it the most. zines are for those who are passionate about anything enough to realize, produce and distribute it. no matter what.
