My hope with zines is to share what i have learned to help empower others! All of my work focuses on positive learning, care through sharing stories, and sharing resources. My newest zine is about caretaking for a loved one and life after death. I hope that my zines will share something to help in this process of life that we are all moving through.

What is your favorite part of making zines?

My favorite part is being able to meet all the people who make zines! When i first got involved with the community, i met so many people, and a lot are still really amazing friends and supporters. I'm so grateful that the zine community is a supportive and DIY centered space!

How do you feel that are zines important in terms of free speech?

The reason i love zines is because i get to hear and read stories that are often times not heard. It gives a platform for so many artists to share what they care about and what they have been through and processed, and often times the content reflects what is happening now (vs. published works which can sometimes be edited to reflect a certain perspective).

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start making zines?

Just do it! The reason for zines is to share what you don't see be shared and to express yourself with what you can. The best part is that you'll find people who really support what you do, and this will inspire you even more to keep creating! You got this!
