really it's a way to tell all of the dumb jokes in my head without saying a word... mostly puns, but sometimes there's just some rad art stuff in there too. Since this field asked me for 50 or more words, I added this last little bit... And even then that wasn't fifty words. Who counts anymore? Excluding that transylvanian on sesame street?

When did you start making zines ... and why?

September fifth, two-thousand and nine. I was really inspired to share my ideas and the format of a zine matched exactly my budget, cheap! This field also requires more than 50 words. I laugh a little at this. It makes me think about that old math trivia, What is the first number that has an 'a' in it?

What is your favorite part of making zines?

the whole process is my favorite. For three years i ran a monthly issue, which was a grind that i loved. coming up with 28-32 pages of jokes and art was a fun challenge. It was then that i started coming up with some random ideas for covers that were more than just printing on cardstock...

What advice would you give to someone who wants to start making zines?

Just make one. Hand it out. Don't expect to make money. It's like skateboarding, the act itself is enough. 50 words?! Okay, so, how can you tell when a joke is a 'dad joke'?

The punchline is a parent.

The race to fifty!!! one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, ... What about 50 syllables?
