In 2007 I was at a basement noise show in Chicago and I started talking to another person there who had brought a zine of doodles to give to one of the performers that night, who was also a comics artist. He convinced me that although I didn't feel like a very accomplished artist yet, I could be making my own zines to share my work with others.
Drawing comics and putting them online is fun, but there's something about actually assembling and holding a physical collection of them - a zine - that feels more meaningful. Creating a tangible object to hold onto and give to friends and maybe stumble upon years later, something about that feels fun and exciting.
