We are a collective of artists and writers from Los Angeles's Skid Row. We make group zines and individual ones that reflect on where we've been, where we are, and where we are going.
Art, poetry, essays, and stories inspired the diverse voices and personalities in Los Angeles's Skid Row.
Our group started making zines as a natural marriage between the creative writing workshop and the artists studio the Lamp Arts Program in Skid Row. Zines are a perfect medium for our hands on, creatives, wild, and handmade ideology.
Some of our zines are collaborations between all artists and writers in our studio. Others are done by single artists / writers who work in many mediums—collage, photography, and drawing—which they pair with poetry and essays.
Our first zine was called Sense / Self. It was a collection of paired self portraits, one written and one drawn (or painted or photographed).
