What are you looking for in an application?
  • Your zines are the primary factor in our evaluation process.
  • Please provide as much information as you can so we can get to know you and your work.
  • Long Beach and local area residents will be given first consideration.
How do you decide who to invite?

Every application is reviewed and ranked individually by each member of the organizing team. We then compile the rankings and review all the applications as a group to make our final selection.

I was wait-listed. What does that mean?

We wait-list applicants we are hoping to find room for. If a zinester drops out, we will immediately notify the next person on the waiting list. We expect to confirm all application statuses by the end of July.

What if I can't pay the table fee when accepting my spot?

If you are accepted to table at LBZF 19 but need more time to pay, contact us ASAP and we will work with you to set something up.

I'm a newbie and have never done a zine fest before. Should I apply?

Yes! All zinesters were new to tabling at one time. We think that folks who are newer to the scene have just as much to say as folks who have been here a while. We want to give everyone an equal opportunity to be a part of LBZF. The key thing is to MAKE ZINES. We need to see some examples of your zines. You can have some zines planned, but folks who apply before making any zines at all probably won’t get in.

I've tabled at LBZF for 2 or 3 years. Does that mean I automatically will/won't get in?

We want to give all zinesters a shot at tabling at LBZF and every application is considered individually each year. You won’t automatically get in just because you’ve tabled here before … and you won’t be penalized for having been a part of LBZF in the past!
