How do zines help you understand/connect with/express your self-identity?
By creating zines, we are able to create our own media with our own terms, and our own rules, in order to see our own respective self-identities reflected in the world around us. This is particularly important in the mass media culture we live in and we are so grateful for zines as a gateway for this self-expression!
What advice would you give to someone who wants to start making zines?
All you need is a piece of paper, a pen, and a single idea. You can make a zine about anything, whether it's an idea for a song, a comic, a one-off, or part of a larger series. The best thing about a zine is that is can be about anything! The time is now: Get DuM!
