Zines allow me to share what I've created with a community that appreciates self-published and self-expressed content.
Because zines are as such, there are no restrictions to follow a standard format; as artists, we can play and experiment with the format, provide non-narrative stories, to engage and interact with each viewer in a non-traditional sense.
I like creating zines to get out all those intangible ideas and putting them on paper; making them a tangible and physical object. There's an enjoyable challenge with making art to fit the zine format; and as limiting as that sounds, the challenge then initiates a creative freedom to play and experiment with layout and composition, until direct decisions are made, finalized, and a new zine is made.
My favorite part of making zines is that process.
