Frijolerx Press is a Chicana feminist run press that showcases the work of womxn, queer, trans & GNC persons of color. My work is very specific to the Chicanx community and addressing issues that we deal with. My most popular work is a d.i.y quide zine to help with Anxiety called Tranquila. I am also the writer of a collection of poems titled Love in the time of Trump.

What was your first zine called? What was it about?

My first zine was titled Muxeria but my first zine as an individual is tranquila Zine. It's my most popular zine and it gives a voice to chicana/latina /brown indigenous womxn who live with Anxiety disorders.

What is your favorite part of making zines?

My favorite part of zine making Is when you get to physically touch your finished product. I also like thinking about the design, paper choice, art. The aesthetic of each zine is fun for me to play with. 🙂

What else do you want people know about you or your zines?

I want people to know that my relationship with my zines have been one of the best I've had..sure we've had our fights but in the end it's always maintained me..given me money for groceries..has been my therapist when I most needed one. My zines are my heart.
